Matthew 3:2 “Turn to God and change the way you think and act, because the kingdom of heaven is near.” Isaiah 55:6–7 — Seek the Lord while He may be found; return to Him and He will have mercy. Ezekiel 18:30–32 — God calls His people to repent and turn from wicked ways so they may live. Acts 3:19 — Repent so times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 17:30 — God commands all people everywhere to repent. Philippians 2:5 — Let the mind of Christ be in you. Mark 1:14–15 — “The time is fulfilled… the kingdom of God is near; repent and believe.” Hebrews 3:7–8, 15 — “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Isaiah1:16–20 — Wash, make yourselves clean; if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.
CHECK YOURSELF, MAKE SURE YOU ARE WITH GOD. MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES. COME TO GOD.
Isaiah 1:2–3 Listen, heaven, and pay attention, earth! The LORD has spoken, “I raised ⸤my⸥ children and helped them grow, but they have rebelled against me. Oxen know their owners, and donkeys know where their masters feed them. But Israel doesn’t know ⸤its owner⸥. My people don’t understand ⸤who feeds them⸥. In this passage of scripture God calls heaven and earth as witnesses to testify that His own covenant people—whom He lovingly raised—have become less responsive, less loyal, and less aware of Him than farm animals are to their owners. This passage of scripture still applies to us today. Oh yes, Isaiah’s message still speaks to us today. It continues to teach us that God is the One who raises, provides, protects, and sustains us. Yet people often enjoy His blessings while ignoring Him. Forgetting God leads to rebellion, confusion, and spiritual dullness. LET US NOT FORGET WHO GOD IS, LET US NOT FORGET WHO GOD IS TO US, AND LET US NOT FORGET THAT ALL GOOD IN OUR LIFE COMES FROM GOD. The issue isn’t that Israel didn’t know God intellectually. It’s that they didn’t acknowledge Him relationally. They lived as if He didn’t matter. That’s the rebellion. LET US NOT BE LIKE THEM, AMEN AND AMEN. LET US NOT FORGET GOD. John 8:7 When they persisted in asking him questions, he straightened up and said, “The person who is sinless should be the first to throw a stone at her.” In this verse Jesus is exposing the hypocrisy of the accusers. He is not excusing sin—He is revealing that no one there was morally qualified to condemn, because every one of them was guilty before God. His statement forces them to examine their own hearts before judging someone else. Jesus confronted their motives. The scribes and Pharisees weren’t seeking justice. They were trying to trap Jesus (John 8:6). Their hearts were full of malice, not righteousness. He exposed their hypocrisy. They acted like they were defenders of the Law, but: They ignored the man who was involved in the adultery (both were supposed to be judged, Deut. 22:22). They violated due process. They used the woman as bait to attack Jesus. Jesus’ words forced them to look inward: “If you want to judge her by the Law, judge yourself by the same standard.” He reminded them of universal guilt. No human being is sinless. Romans 3:23 confirms: “All have sinned…” Jesus wasn’t saying: “Sin doesn’t matter,” but rather, “You are not qualified to condemn her as if you are righteous.” Jesus upheld the Law while revealing grace. The Law required righteous witnesses. Jesus’ statement made every accuser disqualify himself. They dropped their stones because: They knew they were guilty. They knew they were not righteous judges. They knew Jesus had exposed their hearts. Jesus shifted the focus from outward sin to inward sin. The Pharisees saw her sin. Jesus made them see their own sin. This is the heart of the passage: Before you condemn someone else’s sin, deal honestly with your own. Jesus gives the requirements for being a judge, which is something for all of us to hear. We have the right to be the judge of others provided we meet the requirement. That requirement is sinlessness. May I say to you, my friend, I don’t know about you, but that takes me out of the stone–throwing business.
TOO MANY PEOPLE THAT ARE CONSTANTLY JUDGING OTHERS NEED TO DISQUALIFY THEMSELVES, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT IN POSITION TO JUDGE ANYONE. CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU JUDGE SOMEONE ELSE.
2 Thessalonians 3:13 Brothers and sisters, we can’t allow ourselves to get tired of doing what is right. This verse is Paul’s call for believers to persevere in doing what is right, even when others around them are idle, discouraging, or not doing their part. It’s a command to keep going, keep serving, and keep obeying God without growing weary. Paul is saying don’t let the bad example of others drain your motivation. Some in the church were lazy, disorderly, and taking advantage of others. Paul says: don’t let that make you quit doing what’s right. Doing good requires endurance. “Doing good” here includes working diligently, living responsibly, helping others, and obeying Christ. Paul knows that doing good can be tiring—so he encourages perseverance. Our obedience is not dependent on others. Even if others fall short, we stay faithful. Here are passages that reinforce the same message: Galatians 6:9 — “Let us not be weary in well doing…” 1 Corinthians 15:58 — “Be steadfast… your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Hebrews 12:3 — Consider Christ so you don’t grow weary. Isaiah 40:31 — Those who wait on the Lord renew their strength. Psalm 37:3 — “Trust in the Lord and do good.” How These verses apply to us today: These verses speaks directly to moments when you feel like: “Why am I the only one trying?” “People don’t appreciate what I do.” “Others are slacking—why should I keep pushing?” “Doing the right thing feels tiring.” We continue pushing on and refuse to quit because we’re doing it for the Lord, not for people. DON’T ALLOW ANYONE TO CAUSE YOU TO QUIT ON GOD. Everlastingsalvationchurchofgod.com Youtube.com/@andrahigginbotham8096 PASTOR ANDRA HIGGINBOTHAM
Jeremiah 3:21–22 The sound of crying is heard on the hills. It is the crying and the pleading of the people of Israel. They have become crooked and have forgotten the LORD their God. “Come back, you rebellious people, and I will forgive you for being unfaithful.” Here we are! We have come to you because you are the LORD our God. SOME OF US NEED TO COME BACK TO GOD. Deuteronomy 6:12 be careful that you don’t forget the LORD, who brought you out of slavery in Egypt. ARE YOU FORGETTING THE GOD THAT BROUGHT YOU OUT OF YOUR SITUATION. Hosea 13:6 When I fed you, you were full. When you were full, you became arrogant. That is why you forgot me. This verse teaches that abundance can become a spiritual danger when it leads to pride and forgetfulness of God. Israel enjoyed God’s provision, became satisfied, then proud, and eventually abandoned the very One who blessed them. DON’T ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU. Ezekiel 23:35 “This is what the Almighty LORD says: You have forgotten me and turned your back on me. So, you will be punished for your sinning and prostitution.” DON’T CAUSE GOD TO PUNISH YOU. THIS IS A VERY HARD, BUT MUCH NEEDED WORD FROM GOD. LET US CHECK OURSELVES TO MAKE SURE WE ARE NOT STRAYING AWAY FROM GOD.

Matthew 6:15 “If you forgive the failures of others, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failures. Mark 11:25 “When you stand praying, forgive… so that your Father in heaven may forgive your trespasses.” Luke 6:37 — “Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Ephesians 4:32 — “Be kind… forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” Matthew 7:2 — “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” God expects forgiven people to become forgiving people. Unforgiveness blocks fellowship with God, hinders prayer, and contradicts the mercy we ourselves have received.
ARE YOU WILLING TO FORGIVE OTHERS? IF YOU EXPECT GOD TO FORGIVE YOU, YOU FIRST NEED TO FORGIVE OTHERS. STOP HOLDING GRUDGES. THINK ABOUT IT.
Numbers 23:19 God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it. LET US TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS VERSE: “God is not like people.” People can be inconsistent, emotional, forgetful, and influenced by circumstances. God is none of that. He is in a category all by Himself — perfect, steady, and unchanging. “He tells no lies.” Humans may lie, exaggerate, break promises, and say things they don’t mean. But God cannot lie because lying would contradict His holy nature. If God ever lied, He would stop being God — and that is impossible. IF GOD SAID IT HE MEANT IT! “He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind.” People change their minds because they get new information, they get tired, they get pressured, or they lose interest. God never changes His mind in that human way. Why? Because He already knows everything, His plans are perfect, His character is steady, and His promises are eternal. When God decides something, it stands. WE CAN DEPEND ON GOD. “When he says something, he does it.” This is God’s integrity. His words are not suggestions, wishes, or possibilities. His words are actions. If He speaks it, it becomes reality. “When he makes a promise, he keeps it.” This is God’s faithfulness.Every promise He makes is backed by: His power, His sovereignty, His holiness, and His unchanging nature. God’s promises don’t expire. They don’t weaken. They don’t depend on our perfection. They depend on His perfection. What This Means for You Personally: You can trust God even when you can’t trust people. You can rest in His promises even when life feels unstable. You don’t have to fear God changing His mind about you. Your failures don’t cancel His faithfulness. His Word is more reliable than your feelings, circumstances, or past. Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me. Paul writes this verse while in prison, talking about how he has learned to be content whether he has: plenty or little, comfort or hardship, freedom or chains. He is saying: “I can endure every circumstance, because Christ is the one strengthening me.” This is about spiritual strength, inner resilience, and God‑given ability to remain faithful, not about achieving any dream or goal. THE KEY IDEAS OF THIS VERSE: “I can do all things” = I can face all things. “I am strong for all things”, “I can handle whatever comes”, “I am able to endure every situation”. It’s not about unlimited achievement—it’s about unlimited dependence on Christ. “Through Christ” = Christ is the source, not self. Paul is not relying on: his education, his background, his strength, or his emotions. He is relying on Christ living in him. This is the same truth as Galatians 2:20—Christ empowers the believer from within. “Who strengthens me” = ongoing, continual empowerment. The verb means Christ keeps strengthening me. Not a one‑time boost. Not a motivational slogan. A daily supply of grace. Philippians 4:13 promises that Christ will give you strength to: stay faithful when life is hard, endure trials without breaking, remain content in seasons of lack, stay humble in seasons of abundance, obey God when it’s difficult, and keep going when you feel weak. It’s not about self‑confidence. It’s about Christ‑confidence.
1 Peter 3:12 The Lord’s eyes are on those who do what he approves. His ears hear their prayer. The Lord confronts those who do evil.” Psalm 34:15 “The Lord’s eyes are on righteous people. His ears hear their cry for help.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 “The Lord’s eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them.” Psalm 145:19 “He fills the needs of those who fear him. He hears their cries for help and saves them.” Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far away from wicked people, but he hears the prayers of righteous people.” John 9:31“We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners. Instead, he listens to people who are devout and who do what he wants.” Psalm 34:16 “The Lord confronts those who do evil in order to wipe out all memory of them from the earth.”
