We must never allow our sins to pull us down. Scripture is clear: sin is meant to be confessed, confronted, and overcome, not carried like a weight that drags us into defeat. Sin wants to pull you down — but you don’t have to let it. Genesis 4:7 — “Sin is crouching at the door… but you must rule over it.” Sin tries to dominate, but God says you can overcome it. Romans 6:14 — “Sin shall not have dominion over you.” Sin is not your master. You are not meant to live defeated. We fall when we hide sin, but rise when we confess it. Proverbs 28:13 — “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them finds mercy.” Hidden sin pulls you down. Confessed sin lifts you up. Psalm 32:3–5 — David was crushed when he kept silent, but restored when he confessed. Sin pulls you down through guilt, shame, and condemnation. Psalm 38:4 — “My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.” Guilt is heavy — but it’s not meant to stay on you. Romans 8:1 — “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Condemnation is a lie from the enemy. Conviction is from God — and conviction leads upward, not downward. God lifts you up when you turn back to Him. Psalm 145:14 — “The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.” Even when sin knocks you down, God picks you up. Micah 7:8 — “Though I fall, I will rise.” Falling is not final. Rising is your destiny. DON’T ALLOW YOUR SIN TO HOLD YOU DOWN, AND THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD. 1 John 3:18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. John teaches that real love is proven by action, not by talk. Words alone don’t make love genuine—obedience, sacrifice, and practical care do. How to live it out: meet needs when you see them, serve without waiting to be asked, speak truth kindly, but follow it with action. Let your love cost you something—time, comfort, resources. 1 John 3:18 calls believers to a love that is visible, costly, and truthful—love that does something.
Matthew 22:37 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. John 14:15 “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.
LET US REMEMBER, IT IS IMPORTANT TO LOVE GOD AND OBEY GOD.
The Bible teaches that you “bless God” not by adding anything to Him—He is already perfect and complete—but by bringing Him joy, honor, pleasure, and delight through your obedience, praise, love, and faithfulness. Scripture shows that God is “blessed” when His people live in a way that reflects His character and fulfills His purpose. Blessing God Means Praising Him. Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” To “bless the Lord” = to praise Him openly, continually, and sincerely. Psalm 103:1 “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.” Your whole being—mind, heart, will—pours out honor to God. Blessing God Means Obeying Him. Psalm 119:1–2 “Blessed are the undefiled… Blessed are they that keep his testimonies.” When you obey God, you reflect His holiness back to Him. John 14:21 Jesus says obedience is the proof of love. Your obedience blesses God because it shows you value His will. Blessing God Means Living Righteously. Proverbs 11:20 “They that are upright in their way are his delight.” Your righteousness delights God—this is blessing Him. Blessing God Means Trusting Him. Psalm 147:11God is pleased with those who hope in His mercy. Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please him…” Faith blesses God because it honors His truthfulness. Trust is one of the greatest ways you bless God. Blessing God Means Thanking Him. Psalm 50:23 “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me…” Thankfulness glorifies God and blesses Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:18Giving thanks is God’s will—it blesses Him because it shows you recognize His hand in your life. Gratitude blesses God by acknowledging His goodness. Blessing God Means Representing Him Well. Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine… that they may glorify your Father…” Your life blesses God when it points others to Him. Blessing God Means Offering Yourself to Him. Romans 12:1 “…present your bodies a living sacrifice… which is your reasonable service.” A surrendered life blesses God. SUMMARY: You bless God when you praise Him, obey Him, trust Him, live righteously, give thanks, and when you love others.
ARE YOU A BLESSING UNTO GOD? LET US BE A BLESSING UNTO GOD, AND BE BLESSED BY GOD.
We absolutely need God — and Scripture teaches this clearly, repeatedly, and powerfully. We Need God Because He Is Our Life. Acts 17:28 — “For in him we live, and move, and have our being.” We literally exist because of Him. John 15:5 — “Without me ye can do nothing.” Jesus makes it plain: apart from Him, we are powerless. We Need God for Strength. Psalm 28:7 — “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped.” Isaiah 40:29 — “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” We Need God for Guidance. Proverbs 3:5–6 — “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart… and he shall direct thy paths.” Psalm 25:4–5 — “Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths… for thou art the God of my salvation.” We Need God for Protection. Psalm 46:1 — “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 91:1–2 — “He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” We Need God for Salvation. John 14:6 — “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Acts 4:12 — “Neither is there salvation in any other…” We Need God Daily. Psalm 63:1 — “My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee…” Matthew 6:11 — “Give us this day our daily bread.” Jesus teaches dependence every single day. We Need God for Peace. Isaiah 26:3 — “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…” Philippians 4:6–7 — “The peace of Go… shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We Need God for Every Good Thing. James 1:17 — “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…” Psalm 16:2 — “My goodness extendeth not to thee.” Meaning: all good in us comes from Him.

James 4:8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Isaiah 1:16 Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. GOD IS CALLING FOR MORAL CLEANSING. Matthew 6:24 — “No man can serve two masters…” You cannot serve God and the world at the same time.

Matthew 21:22 Have faith that you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” This verse teaches that faith is the condition for answered prayer—not wishful thinking, but confident trust in God’s power and character. Mark 11:24 “That’s why I tell you to have faith that you have already received whatever you pray for, and it will be yours.” This verse reinforces the same principle: faith precedes receiving. James “When you ask for something, you must believe and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like a wave that is blown by the wind and tossed.” This verse teaches doubt disrupts prayer’s effectiveness. Hebrews 11:6 (GW) — “No one can please God without faith. Whoever goes to God must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” This verse teaches us that faith is the foundation of approaching God. Matthew 17:20 (GW) — “If your faith is the size of a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” Even small faith, when genuine, carries divine power. Mark 9:23 (GW) — “Everything is possible for the person who believes.” Jesus ties possibility directly to belief.
