Let me ask you a few questions. Are you being the best you can be for God? Do you know how to be the best you can be for God? Have you ever thought about it?
To be “the best you can be for God,” Scripture gives a clear pathway: pursue holiness, obedience, love, humility, and faithful endurance.
We become our best for God by giving God our whole life. We will never be our best for God if we only give God bits and pieces of our life. Being with God when we want to and being with the world when we want to will not work. Being with God is a fulltime commitment.
Romans 12:1–2 “Present your bodies a living sacrifice… be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This is the foundation: offering yourself fully to God and letting Him reshape your thinking.
To become our best for God we must do everything for the Lord.
Colossians 3:23–24 Teaches “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.”
Your work, your habits, your character—everything becomes worship when done for God.
We become our best for God when we make God our motive. Too many of us do things with ungodly motives. We must make sure our motives are Godly.
1 Corinthians 10:31“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink… do all to the glory of God.”
Even small daily actions can honor God when done with the right heart.
To be our best for God we must shine as light.
Philippians 2:14–16 Teaches us that living without complaining or arguing makes us stand out as a “light in the world.” We must let our light shine. When is our light shining? Our light is shining when people can see God when they see us, our light is shining when people can hear God when they hear us. Our light is shining when our life is bringing GLORY to God.
Philippians 3:12–14 Teaches us to keep pressing forward. Paul admits he isn’t perfect—but he keeps striving toward Christ, and we must admit that we are not perfect, and continue striving to be like Christ.
Hebrews 12:1–2 Teaches us to Run with endurance.
We must lay aside sin, stay focused on Jesus, and keep going even when it’s hard.
James 1:22 Teaches us to Be a doer of the Word. Our best for God is not just knowing Scripture but living it.
