BE CAREFUL HOW YOU LIVE.

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU LIVE.

Ephesians 5:15 So then, be very careful how you live. Don’t live like foolish people but like wise people.
In this verse Paul is telling believers to live with spiritual alertness, intentionality, and wisdom, because the world around them is morally dangerous and time is too precious to waste.
Paul is urging Christians to pay close attention to how they live. “Walk circumspectly” means:
be careful, be watchful, be intentional, and be morally alert. It’s the picture of someone walking through a dangerous area, watching every step so they don’t fall or get trapped.
Paul contrasts two ways of living:
Not as fools — careless, spiritually dull, easily influenced by sin, drifting through life without purpose.
But as wise — discerning, thoughtful, guided by God’s Word, aware of spiritual dangers, making choices that honor Christ.
Wisdom in Scripture is not intelligence; it’s skillful living shaped by obedience to God.
Verses 16–17 explain why we must walk wisely: “Redeeming the time” — making the most of every opportunity. “Because the days are evil” — the world is full of temptation, deception, and distraction. “Understanding what the will of the Lord is” — wisdom comes from knowing God’s will, not following culture.
Paul is saying: Don’t drift. Don’t be careless. Live with purpose because the world is spiritually dangerous.
LET US APPLY THIS WORD OF GOD UNTO OUR LIFE.
Examine our daily choices — are they wise or careless?
Guard our influences — what you watch, listen to, and allow into your heart.
Use our time intentionally — invest in what builds your faith.
Stay spiritually awake — prayer, Scripture, obedience.
Choose wisdom over impulse — pause before decisions and ask, “Does this honor God?”
