Our God teaches us to stand strong by giving us clear commands, deep encouragement, and powerful examples throughout Scripture. The Bible never tells us to be passive — it tells us to stand, resist, endure, and remain faithful no matter what comes.
WE ARE TO STAND STRONG BECAUSE GOD COMMANDS IT. LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR RIGHT Now God doesn’t suggest strength — He commands it.
Ephesians 6:10 — States: “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 —States: “Stand fast in the faith… be strong.”
Standing strong is obedience. God expects His people to be firm, courageous, and unshaken.
Joshua 1:9 states: Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. This verse teaches us that courage is commanded, but it’s rooted in God’s presence, not human strength.
WE ARE TO STAND STRONG AGAINST THE WORLD’S PRESSURE.
Romans 12:2 —States: Don’t be conformed. WE ARE NOT TO GIVE IN AND BECOME LIKE THE WORLD, WE ARE TO STAND STRONG FOR GOD.
Ephesians 5:11 —States: Don’t join darkness — expose it. WE ARE NOT TO BEGIN LIVING LIKE THE WORLD LIVE. WE ARE TO EXPOSE THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD.
Standing strong means refusing compromise.
WE ARE TO STAND STRONG BECAUSE GOD STANDS WITH US.
We must understand that our strength is not ours, it’s His.
Isaiah 41:10 —: Teaches: God strengthens, helps, and upholds you.
Deuteronomy 31:6 —Teaches: He will not fail or forsake you.
Isaiah 41:10 States: Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.
We stand strong because God holds us up.
If today feels heavy…
If our faith feels stretched… If our strength feels thin…
God is not asking us to be mighty — He is asking us to lean on Him.
Our strength is not measured by how much we can carry, but by how tightly we hold onto Him.
Standing strong is simply refusing to let go of God.
Almighty God we thank you for being our God. We thank you for never leaving us or forsaking us. Father God, I ask you to strengthen our heart today. Steady our mind, anchor our spirit, and help us stand firm in Your truth. When we feel weak, be our strength. When we feel pressured, be our peace. When we feel alone, remind us You are with us, and help us stand strong — not in ourself, but in You.
