Ephesians 5:15 Ephesians 5:15 says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.”
In this verse Paul is telling believers to live with spiritual alertness, intentionality, and wisdom, because the world around them is morally dangerous and time is too precious to waste.
In this verse Paul says “Walk circumspectly” which means: be careful, be watchful, be intentional, and be morally alert. It’s the picture of someone walking through a dangerous area, watching every step so they don’t fall or get trapped.
In this verse Paul contrasts two ways of living:
First Paul says let us Not live as fools — meaning not to live carelessly, let us not be spiritually dull, let us not be easily influenced by sin, let us not live our life drifting through life without purpose.
Then Paul says let us live our life wisely meaning let us live our life being discerning, being thoughtful, being guided by God’s Word, being aware of spiritual dangers, and making choices that honor Christ.
Wisdom in Scripture is not intelligence; it’s skillful living shaped by obedience to God.
WE CAN APPLY THIS WORD OF GOD UNTO OUR LIFE BY:
Examining our daily choices — ask yourself are my choices wise or careless?
We must Guard our influences — guard what we watch, guard what we listen to, and guard what we allow into our heart.
We must use our time intentionally —meaning invest in what builds our faith.
We must stay spiritually awake — meaning be consistent in prayer, be consistent in Scripture, and be consistent in obedience.
We must choose wisdom over impulse — meaning pause before decisions and ask, “Does this honor God?”
THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD. ALLOW THIS WORD OF GOD TO BE A GUIDE UNTO YOUR LIFE. AMEN AND AMEN.
