1 John 3:21–24 Dear friends, if our conscience doesn’t condemn us, we can boldly look to God and receive from him anything we ask. We receive it because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him. This is his commandment: to believe in his Son, the one named Jesus Christ, and to love each other as he commanded us. Those who obey Christ’s commandments live in God, and God lives in them. We know that he lives in us because he has given us the Spirit.
John 14:13–14 — Jesus promises to answer prayers asked in His name.
John 9:31 — God hears those who worship Him and do His will.
John 13:34–35 — Jesus’ new command: love one another as He loved us.
John 14:16–17 — The Spirit lives in believers.
Confidence → Obedience → Love → Assurance by the Spirit
John ties together faith in Christ, love for others, and Spirit-given assurance as the marks of a true believer.
