THE BELIEVERS ATTITUDE

This should be the believer’s attitude
To the Doctrine (Teaching) of the Holy Spirit:
1. Continue in it stedfastly as wholehearted believers in Christ—Acts 2:42.
2. Be shaped by it continually as pliable saints—Rom. 6:17.
3. Feed upon it personally as dependant disciples—1 Tim. 4:16.
4. Attend to it regularly as diligent scholars—1 Tim. 4:13.
5. Take heed to it thoroughly as earnest stewards—1 Tim. 4:16.
6. Teach it faithfully as consistent doers—1 Tim. 6:3; Titus 2:7, 10.
7. Preach it tenaciously as zealous workers—2 Tim. 4:2; Titus 2:1.
8. Hold it firmly as convinced witnesses—Titus 1:9; 2 John 10.
9. Abide in it as satisfied servants—2 John 9.

GOD BLESSES THE RIGHTEOUS

Psalms 5:4‭-‬6 GW
You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness. Evil will never be your guest. Those who brag cannot stand in your sight. You hate all troublemakers. You destroy those who tell lies. The Lord is disgusted with bloodthirsty and deceitful people.
SO MANY PEOPLE ARE LIVING ANYWAY THEY WANT TO LIVE, AND WONDERING WHY THEY ARE NOT BEING ABUNDANTLY BLESSED, THEY ARE WONDERING WHY THEY ARE NOT BEING HEALED, THEY ARE WONDERING WHY THEY DON’T HAVE JOY.
I’LL TELL YOU WHY, IT IS BECAUSE GOD SAID HE BLESS THE RIGHTEOUS.
CHECK YOURSELF, HOW ARE YOU LIVING? LIVE A BLESSED LIFE AND BE BLESSED BY GOD.

BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS

Many Sheep Outside, Many Wolves Within
Matthew 7:15 GW
“Beware of false prophets. They come to you disguised as sheep, but in their hearts they are vicious wolves.
Matthew 10:16 GW
“I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as cunning as snakes but as innocent as doves.
John 10:11‭, ‬15 GW
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. So I give my life for my sheep.
2 Peter 2:1‭, ‬3 GW
False prophets were among God’s people ⌞in the past⌟, as false teachers will be among you. They will secretly bring in their own destructive teachings. They will deny the Lord, who has bought them, and they will bring themselves swift destruction. In their greed they will use good-sounding arguments to exploit you. The verdict against them from long ago is still in force, and their destruction is not asleep.
How many sheep are outside, how many wolves within! And how many sheep are inside, how many wolves without! How many are now living in wantonness who will yet be chaste! How many are blaspheming Christ who will yet believe in Him! How many are giving themselves to drunkenness who will yet be sober! How many are preying on other people’s property who will yet freely give of their own! Nevertheless at present they are hearing the voice of another; they are following strangers. In like manner, how many are praising within who will yet blaspheme; are chaste who will yet be fornicators; are sober who will wallow hereafter in drink; are standing who will by and by fall! These are not the sheep.

LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:2 GW
I may have the gift to speak what God has revealed, and I may understand all mysteries and have all knowledge. I may even have enough faith to move mountains. But if I don’t have love, I am nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬5‭, ‬7 GW
Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn’t jealous. It doesn’t sing its own praises. It isn’t arrogant. It isn’t rude. It doesn’t think about itself. It isn’t irritable. It doesn’t keep track of wrongs. Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.

THE BELIEVER’S DUTY

THE BELIEVER’S DUTY:
Christ has one great charge for believers—to continue or to abide in His love.
a. “Continuing” or “abiding” is conditional. A believer can …
• break fellowship with Christ
• cease to keep his thoughts upon Christ
• walk out of the love of Christ
• get away from the love of Christ
• turn back to the world and to his old worldly friends (see 2 Co. 6:17–18)
• give himself back over to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 Jn. 2:15–16)
Jesus said that it is up to the believer to continue in His love. How? By doing what any person does when he wants someone to love him. The person draws near to the person he loves: he does good and tries to please the person. So it is with the believer. The believer continues in the love of Christ by drawing near and doing good and seeking to please Him—very simply by obeying His commandments. (See Jn. 14:21; 15:10, 14.)
Now note a critical point. Christ always loves; His love is always there. But it is up to man to walk in that love. A man can never know and experience the Lord’s love unless he walks in it.
“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him” (Jn. 14:21).
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.… Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you” (Jn. 15:10, 14). “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him” (Col. 2:6).
“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” (1 Jn. 2:6).
b. “Abiding” in the love of Christ has a standard, a supreme example: it is Christ Himself. He was perfectly obedient to God; therefore, He continued in the Father’s love. We are to look at His obedience as our prime example. (Again, see note—Jn. 10:17–18.)
Note another critical point. A believer must do something if He is going to follow Jesus’ example and keep Jesus’ commandments. The believer must study and learn and abide in the Word of God, in the commandments and life of Christ. A person cannot keep a commandment unless he knows the commandment.
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (Jn. 15:4–5).
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Ac. 17:11).
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Ti. 2:15).
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious” (1 Pe. 2:2–3).
“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming” (1 Jn. 2:28).
“Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him” (1 Jn. 3:6).
“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son” (2 Jn. 9).
