IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE THANKFUL TO GOD. THE BIBLE TEACHES US TO BE THANKFUL: The Psalms tells us repeatedly to give thanks to God – for His goodness, for His enduring love, and for His righteous laws. Hebrews 12:28 tells us that gratefulness is part of acceptable and pleasing worship to God. Colossians 4:2 tells us, “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Every morning when we awaken, we can rejoice and be glad for the new day He has made. (Psalm 118:24) We can be thankful that God’s mercies are new every morning, His steadfast love never ceases, and His faithfulness is great. Lamentations 3:22-23 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON TO GIVE GOD THANKS.
