Proverbs 11:1 – “The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.”→ Symbolic of fairness in dealings, including within family. Proverbs 20:17 – “Food gained by fraud tastes sweet to a man, but he ends up with a mouth full of gravel.” → Deceit may feel rewarding at first, but it leads to regret and ruin. Galatians 6:7 – “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” → A reminder that betrayal and dishonesty have consequences. Micah 6:13“So also I will make you sick, striking you down, Desolating you because of your sins.
TREAT YOUR FAMILY FAIR, LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE AND BE BLESSED BY GOD. REMEMBER SIN COMES WITH CONSEQUENCES. DON’T ALLOW SIN IN YOUR LIFE TO CAUSE GOD TO BRING SICKNESS INTO YOUR LIFE. DON’T CAUSE GOD TO STRIKE YOU DOWN, AND THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD, AMEN AND AMEN.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 God will certainly judge everything that is done. This includes every secret thing, whether it is good or bad. What It Means This verse is the final statement in Ecclesiastes—a book that wrestles with the meaning of life, the limits of human wisdom, and the fleeting nature of earthly pursuits. It ends with a sobering and clarifying truth: Key Themes: • God’s Judgment Is Comprehensive: Not only are public actions judged, but even hidden motives, secret deeds, and private thoughts. Nothing escapes His notice. • Moral Accountability: Whether an act is good or evil, it matters. This verse affirms that our choices have eternal significance. • Call to Reverence: It’s not meant to instill fear, but to inspire awe and integrity. Knowing that God sees all encourages us to live sincerely and righteously. In Context: Ecclesiastes 12:13 (the verse just before) says: “Fear God and keep his commandments, because this applies to everyone.” Together, these verses form a powerful conclusion: life may feel confusing or vain at times, but the ultimate purpose is clear—live in reverence to God, obey His ways, and remember that everything will be weighed by Him.
THINK ABOUT IT AS YOU GO ABOUT YOUR DAILY WALK. ALLOW THIS WORD OF GOD TO BE A GUIDE UNTO YOUR LIFE.
Genesis 6:5–6 The LORD saw how evil humans had become on the earth. All day long their deepest thoughts were nothing but evil. The LORD was sorry that he had made humans on the earth, and he was heartbroken. Romans 3:23 Because all people have sinned, they have fallen short of God’s glory. 1 Corinthians 3:9–11 We are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field. You are God’s building. As a skilled and experienced builder, I used the giftthat God gave me to lay the foundation ⸤for that building⸥. However, someone else is building on it. Each person must be careful how he builds on it. After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that foundation is Jesus Christ. I am convinced that the first step towards attaining a higher standard of holiness is to realize more fully the amazing sinfulness of sin.
SO MANY PEOPLE SPEND THEIR TIME LOOKING AND FINDING SIN IN THE LIFE OF OTHER PEOPLE, BUT NEVER LOOKING AT THE SIN IN THEIR LIFE, THEREFORE THEY THINK THEY ARE SO HOLY.
A HEART FOR GOD 2 Chronicles 25:2 “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.” LETS TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS VERSE: “Did that which was right”: Amaziah followed God’s laws and upheld religious practices. He wasn’t rebellious or wicked in his actions. “But not with a perfect heart”: His motives were divided. He lacked full devotion, sincerity, or wholehearted commitment to God. This verse draws a sharp line between external righteousness and internal devotion: Amaziah’s actions were correct, but his heart wasn’t fully aligned with God’s will. It’s a reminder that God looks beyond behavior to the condition of the heart—He desires not just obedience, but love, trust, and wholehearted surrender. This verse is a mirror for us today. It asks: • Are we doing the “right things” but with a reluctant or divided heart? • Do we obey God out of duty, fear, or habit—rather than love and trust? • Are we open to correction, or do we resist when God challenges our motives? What This Reveals About God’s Heart • God values obedience that flows from love and trust, not just outward compliance. • He is slow to anger, sending warnings and prophets to correct Amaziah. • But when Amaziah hardened his heart and embraced idolatry, God withdrew protection and allowed consequences to unfold. This chapter is a vivid portrait of how God responds to divided hearts—not with instant punishment, but with calls to repentance, followed by discipline when ignored. Judgment and Consequences • God allowed Amaziah to suffer military defeat at the hands of Israel (verses 17–24). Jerusalem’s walls were breached, and treasures were looted. • Though Amaziah lived another 15 years, he never repented. Eventually, his own people conspired against him and assassinated him (verse 27).
DOING WHAT’S RIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH. WE MUST DO IT WITH THE RIGHT MOTIVE. WE MUST DO IT WITH OUR HEART COMMITTED TO GOD. LET US REMEMBER OUR MOTIVE AND OUR HEART CAN CAUSE US TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS OR CONSEQUENCES FROM GOD. ALLOW THIS WORD FROM GOD TO BE A GUIDE UNTO YOUR LIFE.
Ps 84:11 The Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord grants favor and honor. He does not hold back any blessing from those who live innocently. Prov 12:2 A good person obtains favor from the Lord, but the Lord condemns everyone who schemes. Ps 5:12You bless righteous people, O Lord. Like a large shield, you surround them with your favor. Isaiah 66:2 “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God.” Favor is not earned—it’s received through faith, humility, and reverence for God’s Word.

WHO DOES GOD BLESS Jer 17:7–8 Blessed is the person who trusts the Lord. The Lord will be his confidence. He will be like a tree that is planted by water. It will send its roots down to a stream. It will not be afraid in the heat of summer. Its leaves will turn green. It will not be anxious during droughts. It will not stop producing fruit. Prov 16:20 Whoever gives attention to the Lord’s word prospers, and blessed is the person who trusts the Lord. Ps 119:1–2 Blessed are those whose lives have integrity, those who follow the teachings of the Lord. Blessed are those who obey his written instructions. They wholeheartedly search for him. Luke 11:28 Jesus replied, “Rather, how blessed are those who hear and obey God’s word.”

1 John 4:7–8 Dear friends, we must love each other because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God. The person who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, because God is love. 1 John 3:18 Dear children, we must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words. 1 Cor 13:4–7 Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn’t jealous. It doesn’t sing its own praises. It isn’t arrogant. It isn’t rude. It doesn’t think about itself. It isn’t irritable. It doesn’t keep track of wrongs. It isn’t happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth. Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up. 1 Pet 4:8 Above all, love each other warmly, because love covers many sins. Deut 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 1 Cor 16:14 Do everything with love.

Scripture is full of strong warnings about false teachings and the importance of staying anchored in truth. Here are some powerful verses that speak directly to this: Key Bible Verses on Avoiding False Doctrine • Ephesians 4:14 “We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.” ➤ A call to spiritual maturity and discernment. • 2 Timothy 4:3–4 “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine… They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” ➤ A prophetic warning about people choosing comfort over truth. • Galatians 1:8–9 “Even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to what we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!” ➤ Paul’s emphatic rejection of any distortion of the gospel. • Matthew 7:15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” ➤ Jesus warns of deceptive appearances. • Romans 16:17–18 “Keep your eye on those who cause dissensions… by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.” ➤ A reminder to be vigilant and discerning. • 2 Peter 2:1 “There will be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies…” ➤ A sobering prediction of internal threats to the faith. LET US STAY ALERT, AND NOT BE DECEIVED BY FALSE DOCTRINE. LET US BE AWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS, OR ANYONE THAT TRIES TO DISTORT THE WORD OF GOD. LET US DISCERN AND RECEIVE ONLY THE TRUE WORD OF GOD.
Hebrews 12:4–8 You struggle against sin, but your struggles haven’t killed you. You have forgotten the encouraging words that God speaks to you as his children: “My child, pay attention when the Lord disciplines you. Don’t give up when he corrects you. The Lord disciplines everyone he loves. He severely disciplines everyone he accepts as his child.” Endure your discipline. God corrects you as a father corrects his children. All children are disciplined by their fathers. If you aren’t disciplined like the other children, you aren’t part of the family. The Christian life is hard. It’s hard being tempted. It’s hard living for God in a hostile world. It’s hard when other people seem to be getting on perfectly well without God. But look at it this way. God is raising us as his children—and he wants us to be the best. He allows us to go through some tough experiences, to get us spiritually fit and strong. It’s a sign that he cares—that he wants us to be holy. Like him.
I have yet to learn that there is a single passage in Scripture which teaches that a literal perfection, a complete and entire freedom from sin, in thought, or word, or deed, is attainable, or ever has been attained, by any child of Adam in this world. Ecclesiastes 7:20 Certainly, there is no one so righteous on earth that he always does what is good and never sins. Philippians 3:12–15 It’s not that I’ve already reached the goal or have already completed the course. But I run to win that which Jesus Christ has already won for me. Brothers and sisters, I can’t consider myself a winner yet. This is what I do: I don’t look back, I lengthen my stride, and I run straight toward the goal to win the prize that God’s heavenly call offers in Christ Jesus. Whoever has a mature faith should think this way. And if you think differently, God will show you how to think. James 3:2 All of us make a lot of mistakes. If someone doesn’t make any mistakes when he speaks, he would be perfect. He would be able to control everything he does.
LET US STRIVE TO BE WHO GOD CREATED US TO BE, BUT LET US NOT BE TOO HARD ON OURSELVES OR ALLOW ANYONE TO BE TOO HARD ON US. THE BOTTOM LINE IS, BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE FOR GOD. STRIVE!!!
