WE ARE FAMILY.

WE ARE FAMILY.
WE MUST GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER, AND WORK TOGETHER.
Mark 1:19 As Jesus went on a little farther, he saw James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in a boat preparing their nets ⸤to go fishing⸥.
The disciples of Jesus were cooperative men. They were brothers, and yet they were working together. The fact that they were working together says at least three things.
1. They had good parents who had taught them to love and care for one another.
2. They came from a closely knit family, a family that worked together.
3. They followed in the steps of their parents’ teaching, maintaining a brotherly spirit throughout life.
The disciples’ brotherly, cooperative spirit shows us three things.
1) The need for a brotherly spirit: the kind of spirit Christ desires of His followers. The kind of kingdom Christ is building is a kingdom of followers with a brotherly spirit.
“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mt. 22:39).
“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you” (Jn. 15:12; see Jn. 13:35; 1 Pe. 1:22).
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another” (Ro. 12:10).
2) The need for reaching families: brothers and sisters reaching each other.
“He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas” (Jn. 1:41–42).
3) The need for parents to train up their children in the way they should go.
“And thou shalt teach them [God’s words] diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up” (De. 6:7).
THIS WORD FROM GOD IS MEANT TO BE AN EXAMPLE UNTO PARENTS AND CHILDREN.
HOPEFULLY ALL WILL RECEIVE FROM THIS.
