Is Homosexuality a Sin? It’s in the Bible, Leviticus 18:22, TLB. “Homosexuality is absolutely forbidden, for it is an enormous sin.” Is the practice of homosexuality the worst sin a person can commit? Many people, even “Christians” may say this, but the Bible says all sin leads to death. It’s in the Bible, Romans 6:23, NKJV. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Pride, greed, and laziness are sins all the same, just as much as homosexuality is a sin. It’s in the Bible, Ezekiel 16:49, NKJV. “Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” Note: The Bible does not single out homosexual behavior, but also includes other sins offensive to God, including idolatry and other sexual sins. Like all sinners, practicing homosexuals are called to repent. GOD’S PROMISES God’s promises are something He always keeps. “No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back one word of what I said” (Psalm 89:34, TLB). All of our needs will be supplied. It’s in the Bible, Philippians 4:19, NKJV. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God does not hold back anything that is for your benefit or good. It’s in the Bible, Psalm 84:11, TLB. “For Jehovah God is our Light and our Protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk along his paths.” The Bible promises peace as we live according to its principles. It’s in the Bible, Psalms 119:165, NKJV. “Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” WE MUST LEARN THE PROMISES OF GOD. BELEIVERS ARE TO SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER James 5:19–20 My brothers and sisters, if one of you wanders from the truth, someone can bring that person back. Realize that whoever brings a sinner back from the error of his ways will save him from death, and many sins will be forgiven. Galatians 6:1–2 Brothers and sisters, if a person gets trapped by wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should help that person turn away from doing wrong. Do it in a gentle way. At the same time watch yourself so that you also are not tempted. Help carry each other’s burdens. In this way you will follow Christ’s teachings. Matthew 18:15–17 “If a believer does something wrong,go, confront him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won back that believer. But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you so that every accusation may be verified by two or three witnesses. If he ignores these witnesses, tell it to the community of believers. If he also ignores the community, deal with him as you would a heathen or a tax collector. 1 Timothy 5:20 Reprimand those leaders who sin. Do it in front of everyone so that the other leaders will also be afraid. God’s people are to resist sin Ephesians 4:22–24 You were taught to change the way you were living. The person you used to be will ruin you through desires that deceive you. However, you were taught to have a new attitude. You were also taught to become a new person created to be like God, with a life that truly has God’s approval and is holy. Proverbs 4:24-27 Remove dishonesty from your mouth. Put deceptive speech far away from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead and your sight be focused in front of you. Carefully walk a straight path, and all your ways will be secure. Do not lean to the right or to the left. Walk away from evil. 1 Corinthians 15:34 Come back to the right point of view, and stop sinning. Some people don’t know anything about God. You should be ashamed of yourselves. James 1:21 So get rid of all immoral behavior and all the wicked things you do. Humbly accept the word that God has placed in you. This word can save you.
