God’s love takes many forms throughout Scripture. 1 John 4:8 even refers to God Himself as love. Love could be explained as wanting the best for someone, and that’s exactly what God intends for us. God loves you simply because he loves you. You don’t have to work for his affection. You don’t have to set yourself straight before God can pour out his love over you.
1 John 4:19 – We love because he first loved us.
Romans 5:8 – But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 4:16 – So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Lamentations 3:22-23 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
