GOOD HEALTH AND LONG LIFE ARE BLESSINGS FROM OUR GOD
Exodus 23:25–26 You must serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your food and water. I will take away all sickness from among you. No woman in your land will miscarry or be unable to have children. I will let you live a normal life span.
Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you will listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what he considers right, if you pay attention to his commands and obey all his laws, I will never make you suffer any of the diseases I made the Egyptians suffer, because I am the LORD, who heals you.”
Deuteronomy 7:9–15 Keep in mind that the LORD your God is ⸤the only⸥ God. He is a faithful God, who keeps his promise and is merciful to thousands of generations of those who love him and obey his commands. But he sends destruction to pay back everyone who hates him. He never takes long to pay back anyone who hates him. So obey the commands, laws, and rules I’m giving you today. If you listen to these rules and faithfully obey them, the LORD your God will keep his promise to you and be merciful to you, as he swore to your ancestors. He will love you, bless you, and increase the number of your descendants. He will bless you with children. He will bless your land with produce: grain, new wine, and olive oil. He will bless your herds with calves, and your flocks with lambs and kids. This will all happen in the land the LORD will give you, as he swore to your ancestors. You will be blessed more than any other people. Your men and women will be able to have children, and your animals will be able to have offspring. The LORD will keep you from having any kind of illness. He will not strike you with any of the terrible diseases you experienced in Egypt. Instead, he will strike all those who hate you.
OUR GOD TEACHES US HOW TO LIVE IN A WAY THAT WILL CAUSE HIM TO BLESS US WITH GOOD HEALTH AND A LONG LIFE. ALLOW THESE VERSES TO BE A GUIDE UNTO YOUR LIFE.
The disobedience of Adam and Eve caused God to remove his blessing
Genesis 3:16–19 He said to the woman, “I will increase your pain and your labor when you give birth to children. Yet, you will long for your husband, and he will rule you.” Then he said to the man, “You listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree, although I commanded you, ‘You must never eat its fruit.’ The ground is cursed because of you. Through hard work you will eat ⸤food that comes⸥ from it every day of your life. The ground will grow thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat wild plants. By the sweat of your brow, you will produce food to eat until you return to the ground, because you were taken from it. You are dust, and you will return to dust.”
Genesis 6:5–7 The LORD saw how evil humans had become on the earth. All day long their deepest thoughts were nothing but evil. The LORD was sorry that he had made humans on the earth, and he was heartbroken. So he said, “I will wipe off the face of the earth these humans that I created. I will wipe out not only humans, but also domestic animals, crawling animals, and birds. I’m sorry that I made them.”
DON’T LIVE YOUR LIFE IN A WAY THAT WILL CAUSE GOD TO REMOVE HIS BLESSING FROM YOUR LIFE. DON’T LIVE YOUR LIFE IN A WAY THAT WILL CAUSE GOD TO BE SORRY THAT HE MADE YOU.
1 Chronicles 29:11–12 Greatness, power, splendor, glory, and majesty are yours, LORD, because everything in heaven and on earth is yours. The kingdom is yours, LORD, and you are honored as head of all things. Riches and honor are in front of you. You rule everything. You hold power and strength in your hands, and you can make anyone great and strong.
Psalm 89:11 The heavens are yours. The earth is also yours. You made the world and everything in it.
