The Lord’s mercy is “great” in character. NUMBERS 14:18-19 ‘The LORD … patient, forever loving.… He forgives wrongdoing and disobedience.… He never lets the guilty go unpunished, punishing children … for their parents’ sins to the third and fourth generation.…’ By your great love, please forgive these people’s sins, as you have been forgiving them from the time they left Egypt until now.”
“Plenteous” in blessing PSALM 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.
“Everlasting” in extent PSALM 100:5 The LORD is good. His mercy endures forever. His faithfulness endures throughout every generation.
“Good” in help PSALM 109:21 O LORD Almighty, deal with me out of the goodness of your name. Rescue me because of your mercy.
“Delighting” in action MICAH 7:18 Who is a God like you? You forgive sin and overlook the rebellion of your faithful people. You will not be angry forever, because you would rather show mercy.
“Tender” in bestowment LUKE 1:78 A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful.
“Rich” in wealth EPHESIANS 2:4 But God is rich in mercy because of his great love for us.
“Abundant” in supply 1 PETER 1:3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! God has given us a new birth because of his great mercy. We have been born into a new life that has a confidence which is alive because Jesus Christ has come back to life.
