IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE THANKFUL TO GOD. THE BIBLE TEACHES US TO BE THANKFUL: The Psalms tells us repeatedly to give thanks to God – for His goodness, for His enduring love, and for His righteous laws. Hebrews 12:28 tells us that gratefulness is part of acceptable and pleasing worship to God. Colossians 4:2 tells us, “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Every morning when we awaken, we can rejoice and be glad for the new day He has made. (Psalm 118:24) We can be thankful that God’s mercies are new every morning, His steadfast love never ceases, and His faithfulness is great. Some people who have set their hearts on getting rich have wandered away from the Christian faith and have caused themselves a lot of grief. HEBREWS 13:5 Don’t love money. Be happy with what you have because God has said, “I will never abandon you or leave you.” A dreadful, a dreadful thing is the love of money. It disables both eyes and ears, and makes men worse to deal with than a wild beast, allowing a man to consider neither conscience, nor friendship, nor fellowship, nor the salvation of his own soul; but having withdrawn them at once from all these things, like some harsh mistress, it makes those captured by it its slaves.
